The Cold Ships

about

My usual approach to posting tracks on here is to first, write the music, and then, find or create an image to compliment it. This, was done the other way around. I found the image used here while searching the net for something completely unrelated, but as soon as I saw this picture I was stunned. I found the image desolate, cold yet somehow quite beautiful and was immediately inspired to write this piece. I imagined a cold wind, metallic undertones and a Siren song to draw me, and hopefully you, in.

The image is by photographer Simon Roberts and can be found in his Motherland collection here: simoncroberts.com/simonroberts.html. The derelict ships are somewhere on the Kola Peninsula in north western Russia. Simon toured Russia over a year and took some amazing shots. Well worth a look!

Thanks to Simon Roberts (see above), as without his art, this art of mine would never have happened.
